A prince of the Southern Icefield deemed, along with his two sisters, unfit to rule. Their parents had been fine nobles, but unfortunately their hatchlings had showed little promise in following in their footsteps and had been sent out into the world to find a charge - some kind of purpose at all, actually. Trident was a sweet hatchling; kind to everything around him and utterly a pacifist. While his sisters enjoyed hearty, meaty meals, his preference had always been for plants. His softness was celebrated - kindness was a strength, his mother had always said.

Unfortunately, he was also terrified of anything and everything around him.

He refuses to go anywhere without someone he trusts (even when he'd far outstripped them in size, he'd insisted on being carried around by his sisters). The first time he spied a spider on his travels outside the Southern Icefield he ran into a cave and refused to emerge for several days. Anything unfamiliar might cause him to faint, and it was quickly determined that these wouldn't be the traits looked for in an heir. Perhaps he'd improve with time and a good journey.
