╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ Dyalco was among the first to run away during the event known as Leto's Escape. (Leto was originally code name for Kaito Canvas. This first impression on his comrades had a grand impact on the following events. Upon settling in the Black Canvas, one of Kaito's first decisions was to appoint Dyalco as the leader of the sentries. This decision was made based on Dyalco's reserved nature and stealth expertise. Dyalco happened to lack strength and combat skills, so it was both safer and wiser to appoint him as a sentry rather than a warrior. While unnervingly quiet, Dyalco built a strong reputation for his quick thinking and being an excellent listener. On the downside, he is quick to judge and be cruel to those who oppose him. As of the ongoing war between Bastos Tenaries and Celests, Dyalco is ninth in rank of the Elites. (See Kyros for more information.) Dyalco had not started as an elite. It took a couple of years for him to transition from living as a lone wolf to a leader of others. After becoming close friends with Keavo, Dyalco became intrigued by Keavo's mysterious origin. Wanting to learn more about the lives of those like his friend, Dyalco arranged a private meeting with Kaito. During this meeting, Dyalco requested permission to leave the Black Canvas on his own accord in order to study inhabitants of the outside worlds. Kaito empathized with his reasoning but stated that only the Elites, messengers, and investigators were allowed to traverse the world on their own accord. After all, the Celests quite literally had the high ground outside of the BTs' home. It was simply too dangerous. Annoyed, Dyalco knew that he would never be suited as an investigator nor a messenger. As a last attempt for change, Dyalco asked Kaito if he believed he was capable of the responsibility that came with being an Elite. Immediately, Kaito was amazed by the way Dyalco phrased his question--it showed he was keen on his leader's thoughts, rather than focusing on himself. "Absolutely," Kaito said, "otherwise I would not trust you to supervise our only safe haven. I shall order Kyros to monitor your progress over the next two years. If you can impress my third, then he'll succeed in convincing me of your worth. Does that sound fair?" "Yes, my lord. Thank you." Over the next two years, Dyalco served his usual duties. Even when he could sense Kyros' presence, he did not alter his actions. Eventually, Kyros reported his observations and opinions to Kaito. Kaito took a liking to the news and thus appointed Dyalco as the eleventh Elite. He fit the role so well that he managed to climb the ranks, passing Shinoja, Arente, and Spexi. As of now, Dyalco is perfectly content with his duties. He gets plenty of action as an Elite and especially loves to serve his higher-ups--except Cysto, who happens to be annoying and... unsettling, at times. ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ BACKSTORY When Dyalco was born, the Celests were already aware of the signature BT Mark: a thin vertical line that goes through the left eye. Luckily for him, Dyalco's mother and father were skepticists and refused to believe that their little boy would grow up to be capable of such harm. When Dyalco was six years old, his marking was recognized by an anonymous citizen and he, along with his parents, was reported to the Celestial Guard. Having spent the majority of his life on the run with his parents, Dyalco learned how to avoid the Celestial Guards and remain unseen by the public. He matured at a young age. He lacked social interactions, so Dyalco avoided talking to people. A man of few words, one would say. Unfortunately, Dyalco's mother had been arrested when he was eleven and his father was murdered by a guard when he was fifteen. Dyalco spent the rest of his first life hiding in total solitude, questioning his existence and that of the outside world. At twenty-four years old, Dyalco had attempted to outrun a city officer after being spotted in a neighborhood alleyway. The officer got close enough to strike Dyalco in the back of the head. Dyalco fell forward and his lower jaw smashed into the brick walkway. As a result of his fractured jaw, Dyalco's windpipe was blocked and he suffocated to death. While in an underworld prison known as Vinternum (see this dragon to learn more), Dyalco's jaw had healed improperly. This is why he now hides the disfigured shape by wearing facial coverings. |
