Biography
Phiradil is a Pearl Cerdae, but even before he became such he was a feared warlock. He sought the transformation in order to gain strength, as Pearl Cerdae are rumored to be so resilient as to be nigh-immortal. Phiradil believed that with careful application of his magical knowledge, he could prevent the physical transformation of his body, and thus become an immortal dragon without cost. Unfortunately for Phiradil, he was wrong.
His attempts to prevent bodily transformation initially seemed successful, but without the change his body began to reject the plant. He developed chills, and felt fatigued no matter how much rest he got. His temperature soared, and he felt shaky and weak. The plant, coming from the Viridian itself, was stronger than his body's immune system, and even in his delirium he realized that if he continued to fight it, he would surely die.
After Phiradil accepted the transformation, and undid the magic that was staving it off, he remained unsteady. His fever went down, but he did not grow stronger. As his wings atrophied, Phiradil lamented his foolishness. He had tried to cheat the Labyrinth, and the gods mocked him.
