Biography

{the sexton.}
a bloodline (adopted)

one of only two plague dragons, greta began her search when she was barely fledged. increasingly unsettled by the gravelooting activities of the dragons around her, greta's plague tendencies manifested in a reverence for the cycle of life and death. she looked at the dead and wanted to commemorate them, not rifle through their pockets. hoping to find this balance in the nature domain, she left the ashfall waste for the viridian labrynth, despite the sneers and scoffs of those she left behind. one dusky evening, she was approaching the behemoth from above when she saw a small, flickering light below her. swooping down and landing deftly on the top of an old tree, she watched as a shimmering seafoam spiral lit the last candle on a shrine. by the tiny flame's light, she could see the spotted faces of a male spiral carved into a stone tablet, laden with woven wreaths of flowers and grasses. the spiral stood before the shrine, and greta was surprised by her silence and stillness, given her breed. after a moment, the spiral lifted her many wings and snaked away through the trees of the shrieking wilds, where a little ways off, she could hear the trickle of water and the laughter of young hatchlings wrestling in the dying light.

a tiny maize-maroon fae found her the next morning, slumbering at the base of the tree where she had landed, the candle still flickering in the dewy air. the fae settled on the guardian's back and named her greta, who tended the shrine of the clan's exalted and made sure that the candles were always lit.
