eir wakes to silence within a moonlit garden, their form still, save for brilliant blue eyes that slowly take in their surroundings. Their first breath is accompanied by the cracking of stone as they ease their way into being a living creature once more. Thick black ichor flows from within the newly formed cracks, as eir makes their way to a 2-tiered fountain at the center of the garden they woke up within.
'Ah, so this is my form.' they think looking into the clear watery reflection.
Chunks of stone litter the ground as they move to follow a well-lit path away from the fountain. An attempt at speaking is halted as thick, glossy rivulets of ichor spill out instead. It wasn't the first time eir was without a voice, but their task would be difficult without reliable help this time around. No matter. These things always worked themselves out and SHE was annoyingly consistent with dropping hints anytime eir took too long to figure things out themself. The path ends at a large, ornate archway and a set of purple wooden doors. Not paint, natural, and inlaid with an unknown language that seems to glow of its own accord. Strange, but fitting in this new environment eir has found themself in. Not that eir had ever deemed to use something as mundane as a door. Now inside what seems to be a large documents building, eir sets to work. They easily make their way to the building's center and settle down atop it, pink-lit candles appearing around them in an unknown and familiar pattern. This part always takes a bit of time but eir is- has always been -patient. An itch starts up just behind their eyes; unfortunate, but not completely unexpected. Fluorescent blue tears well up before falling towards the tile at their feet. They never hit the ground. Instead the not-quite liquid coalesces until their form resembles a butterfly which flutters about until it finds its spot atop eir's still body. More and more tears fall, reform, and settle atop eir until finally the candles flicker out, the tears cease, and eir is barely visible beneath the swarm. A door slams in the distance and the butterflies scatter about onto their task; the building's center empty once more. |
