Raukar is the son of Rauken and Narvara and younger brother to Nakuo. As a member of the pair's first clutch as Gaolers, there was anticipation as to how they would turn out as adults. They were given training and a basic education as to their species' origins and purpose. As they reached adulthood, they gradually showed the results of the upbringing.

Raukar is arguably the more Gaoler-like of the two brothers. Devoting himself fully to training and exercises, sparring and study, he tried to make himself into an ideal Gaoler. The constant feasting with his family somewhat mired this effort, resulting in a bulky form with buff muscles. He proved to be a capable magic user as well, utilizing and shadow magic to practice herding techniques for Shade Hunting and Arcane magic for a more direct approach to combat. Of the two siblings, he is much more focused, determined and single minded in his goals.
