Jadvyga never had her moment in the sun. She had the chance for it... but not really. Having your egg snatched by your older sister can complicate things a bit.

Reverie gave Jadvyga another chance. At what price?

Priceless—an eternal soul, her own.

Needless to say, Jadvyga didn’t grow into her new form in the most healthy way. Her body had already begun decomposing by the time the ritual started, and it wasn’t able to regenerate in full form. However, the magical properties of the ritual imbued her form with new, unimaginable strength, never accessible to her body before. Power unlocked by the potential of an unworn soul. With power like this, she is... Nigh untouchable.

This is good, in light of her past murder. Yet, it’s a large part of her inner turmoil and overall anxiety.

She knows why she was resurrected. The Hollow viewed her egg as hope, as beacon, and as weapon. They wanted to use Jadvyga to defeat Badmoon and her clan uprising, to defeat her own sister and overpower the rebellion. Badmoon, in all her cunning, saw this in advance and stole the egg from her own parents. Unable to bring herself to destroy the egg containing her sister, she simply coveted it until it grew cold, and died.

This coldness inflects upon her personality today. She feels betrayed that her parents, simply desperate to meet their daughter, would allow such a ritual for her soul to happen, as now she can never reach Green Haven. She feels betrayed by this clan and their terrible expectations for her to be involved, to sacrifice her life for a home she hasn’t learned to love. And betrayed by her sister, who, though under personal duress and spiritual conflict, would go through such an act against her, a crime.

Only her smoke gyre, an eternal companion born from the ashes of her resurrection, is able to help bear this weight. Only in he does she confide and lean upon, for they both know how it feels to burn up completely, and cool to coals on the surface, until... smoke. An infectious cloud of ill-tidings for the world.

And so they persist. Everyone is an enemy, no one an ally. This being Reverie’s first resurrection, she doesn’t know exactly how much time is left for Jadvyga. A century? A year? Immortality, or just a second more until she’s dust and bone? Every moment feels like the edge.

And there’s a lot of things someone on the edge can do.
