He often goes out with the gatherers and hunters to try and find some new, shiny thing he can trade off to local clans. Sadly, he doesn't really have any sort of taste when it comes to the knick-knacks he finds, often bringing back a lot of useless junk. He'll go on about how a torn piece of fabric is worth millions to the right dragon, even when it's..a useless piece of torn fabric. While he might be terrible at hording tat, he is also surprisingly good at finding the right dragons to sell it to. He is a specialist trader after all, even though the rest of the clan has no idea how he does it. One day he'll go off with hundreds of shale, and the next he'll come back with gems. Many dragons don't question his skills, but some believe he's playing more than a few dirty tricks - after all, more than a few times he comes back with a few new scars. Personality-wise, Maelgwn is a pretty nice dragon, even considering his arrogance can sometimes be over the top. He's very generous, always willing to help out other members of the clan, and is even willing to help build up other dragons hoard at no fee. He sees his clan as he only family, and doesn't have a problem being stuck in the icky, sticky lands of Plague. He does have a curiosity about his origins though, as he knew he came from the Highland Scrub, but he has no known parents. Maelgwn may one day go back to his homeland, even if just to see what it is like in comparison to the lands of Plague. Maelgwn is currently in charge of "Tooth fer a Claw", a trading caravan he runs with both Nadolig and Naiant, which travels around Sornieth, and so he is rarely seen within the walls of the clan. |
