The Chimera is a story told by beasttribes of the earthen wastes. It is a large creature with a lions mane, monstrous horns, and a dragon scaled tail. It brings death and destruction to all whom encounter it, dousing them in great bouts of fire. Clans tell their children of it to make them behave.

The oldest clan members know such a creature is real. One such elder bears scars from an encounter with it. All peoples know to avoid the bramble crags, for many dont return.


Unbeknownst to the beast tribes, the Chimera is an ancient Gaoler seeker that lost its mind in the endless hunt for the shade. Since Gaolers have not been seen in ages, no one knew it was a sentient dragon. She keeps herself secluded in a cave where she has degraded back to animal instincts. She hunts all things now: shade, beastclan or dragon.

Once chimera was called Shura. A young and talented hunter eager to serve her deity and contain the shade. She was overzealous and cocky. Her affliction came out of the blue but took her mind quickly.
