Biography
IRINE
Shadow Witch |
|
B I O G R A P H Y
As a hatchling Irine was brought into the clan by a mysterious stranger, who too the only daughter of a clutch born in Amarayne in trade for the only daughter born of another clan for reasons they refused to disclose. Irine was a perfectly normal hatchling and they promised the other would be treated just as well, so reluctantly Amarayne agreed. Irine specialized in magic and making puzzle boxes, and was good enough to stump most of her clanmates but met her match in then-guardian Shylock. This sudden rival turned her hobby into a passion, and she worked hard to stump him, eventually succeeding at this within just a year. Instead of moving on, however, by this time she had developed a crush on the detective, and as he claimed to be verbally averse to romance, she decided to make him her new challenge. Things became more serious when Shylock lost his father. He both clung to her, finally claiming her as one of his best friends, and pushed her away. He insisted he could never love, and yet couldn't bear to let her go. After years of this, Irine took matters into her own claws and gave him the choice. Either let her go and free the both of them from the vicious cycle or take her and end the games once and for all. Though he at first seemed to lean towards the former he soon realized he didn't want it and after a short time where they enjoyed being together without all the baggage, they became exclusive mates. |
P E R S O N A L I T Y
She likes to speak in a strange, purple prose-filled manner and gives out strange nicknames she comes up with on the fly. Most dragons she has frequent encounters with have a whole list of them, and she tries not to repeat any of them. She only breaks character and drops the flowery talk if she is startled, frightened, or if she needs to be serious. She may also drop it with those she's most comfortable with, speaking frankly among family and close friends after a long day. Never much for rigorous study, Irine prefers to learn via doing, feeling her way through with her gut and helpful instruction rather than reading technique from a book. She only reads storybooks, never textbooks, which means most of her knowledge comes straight from the source. This also makes her bad at writing things down, as she has a hard time describing what she is doing and isn't sure how to get it across via text. |
