Dodder and his mate, Striga's main job in the Clan are as undertakers. They take care of proper funeral rites and burial processes for any dragon - whether from the Clan or not - that dies on Clan territory. This is especially crucial for Imperial deaths, but they take their job seriously no matter the dragon's breed or flight.
They also are very vocal worshipers of The Green. They, and other dragons within the Nature flight, have a cult-like obsession with the expansion of the Viridian Labyrinth. They view all plants within it as sacred, and they would defend its growth until their dying breath.
Dodder and Striga's role in the expansion of The Green, however, is not defense - it is cultivation. The bodies of the dead - dragons or otherwise - become compost, which is distributed strategically however they have determined would best benefit The Green.
Those who object to their methods and bury their dead with other methods or enclosed in stone tombs tend to find the graves robbed. Hadley does her best to discourage this behavior, but her lectures have had no effect. They recognize her authority, but only to a point - just as they recognize the Gladekeeper's authority to a point. To the worshipers of The Green these are just figureheads, and their worth only stretches as far as they benefit The Green.
They view themselves as mere agents of The Green and so have little attachment to many dragon affairs or concepts like gender and sexuality. They simply Are. They don't care what you call them, so long as you do not waste their time.
There have been dragons who have approached the pair with the wish to commit their bodies to The Green, as a kind of Exaltation. While Hadley deeply disapproves of such practices, she cannot change a dragon's will and the undertakers are more than happy to grant such requests.
Others approach them seeking more traditional Exaltation, but wanting to honor The Green as well as the Gladekeeper, and they're happy to assist in standard training as well.
While Striga leads the sect of Green worshipers Dodder is part of, a lot of what he does is research and recon - obtaining reports on how the borders of the Labyrinth are faring, managing maps on where compost has been applied and when, and frequently assessing the health of the growth within Clan Radix's borders. It is tedious work, but he would watch stalactites form if he thought it would benefit The Green.
