Tesai "benevolent" necromancer | ghoul | bishop to the reborn Truly ghoulish, they used to say, to see Tesai playing with resurrected woodland creatures, the scent of incense following him wherever he went- how right they were. He died. Young, too, such a shame. Carrion Canyon is a dangerous place, but what they did not know is that one of the spirits lurking there took a liking to Tesai's body, and brought him back. They cohabitate the body, neither fully in control. The spirit is always lurking, just past the edge of his consciousness, giving him his necromantic powers. In accepting this spirit, he forsook his windborn powers, giving them up to gain something not quite elemental. While experimenting with resurrection in Carrion Canyon, he found the recently dead body of Caoineadh. Young, and even dead he could tell she was naive, sweet, and skilled. She deserved to live- and he could make that happen. Preserving her body with a simple spell to stave off decomposition, he stockpiled power. For weeks, he absorbed latent energy from nearby wildlife. Most he allowed to go free, weak and near death, but not dead. With enough power for the ritual, he sent that life back into Caoineadh, giving her an odd visage in her draconic form. In all his, ah, wisdom, he fled before she truly awoke. Watching from the shadows, he trailed her as she found her way to the Highland Refuge, and built Sidh's Gate. He still keeps an eye on her, to see the results of his "benevolence". He lodges with the Riftruin Court, so he's never too far from Refuge, and can check in on her often. Rauken keeps an eye on her most, as he lives in her quaint little inn. He does so love her babas au rhum. He finds the butcher's figs leave such a wonderfully red stain on his beak, the dramatic fool. He imagines Seere as "one of his" too, and uses the money he makes off his darker ventures to fund both Caoin and Seere's own businesses, sending people their way and ensuring they'll never go under. What's a little necromancy if you don't take care of your own? |
