Biography

Trick or treat
Smell my feet
Give me something good to eat
If you don't
I don't care
I'll go to another lair!
~~

Bolina was one of those "every day is Halloween" kind of dragons which, oddly enough, only made the actual day that much more special. So special, in fact, that last year she had blatantly defied her clan matriarch's orders and had gone trick or treating despite being, well, basically grounded.

The consequences had been... undesirable, though the trick-or-treating made it all worth it. Nevertheless this year she had been on her very best behavior leading up to the event.
This made the rest of the clan nervous.
Few knew it was even possible for Bolina not to get up to mischief.

And so, with her witch's hat placed firmly upon her head and the strands of bird bones draped across her wings clattering and whistling eerily, Bolina soared through the night seeking treats.
...or tricks.

Halloween 2013
The hat was perfect.

Bolina jauntily tipped the brim over her eyes, leaving just enough of a gap to see and leave a glimpse of her fiery eyes. She turned before the reflective slab of obsidian to admire the rest of her get-up, though obsidian herself most of what reflected were her wings and adornments.

She’d stolen borrowed the bird-skull wing piece from Shatterglass, who had more than enough bird-skull related items that she certainly wouldn’t miss one or two things missing, especially if it was just for the night! At least, Bolina hoped that would be the case. Shatterglass wasn’t so obsessed that the mirror would count everything every day, right?

In any case, the skulls made hollow clacking noises against the beads they were strung with, and the hollow bones tightly knotted to the drape held the promise of some pretty creepy sound-effects.
Bolina topped it all off with some wing bangles and bracelets which chimed and clattered, adding to the overall air of mystery she hoped she was exuding.

The only problem was that she was technically grounded.

Bolina made a face at the memory, and really who grounds adult dragons? That’s a thing for hatchlings! Not full grown guardians like herself!

Of course, that was the whole reason for the grounding the first place. “Act like a hatchling,” Emberwrath had said, “and you will be treated like a hatchling.”
So Bolina was being punished for causing mischief. Being punished for causing mischief on a night DEDICATED to causing mischief.

And that was why she was sneaking out.

It helped that clan matriarch Emberwrath had taken her team and gone off to do battle that evening. That had eliminated the majority of dragons who would enforce her grounding. Kirill probably would, but she waited until he wandered off in a haze of inventor’s-brain, caught up in his thoughts on his way to who-knows-where.

Everyone else was either busy with actual hatchlings, sleeping, or taking care of the daily lair chores. Easy enough to avoid.

That left whatever guard had been posted at the door.

Demeter.

Oh this was going to be TOO easy.
Bolina smirked to herself and made her way past the perplexed looking fae, stepping over a slightly twitching sack set upon the floor.

“Bolina? Do you know what I’m… Hey were are you going? Bolina?! Aren’t you supposed to- BOLINA!”
Whatever the little fae said next was lost in the rush of wind as Bolina launched herself into the air, spiraling into the sky in search of treats.

…or tricks.

Exalting Bolina to the service of the Flamecaller will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
