In Clan Lucerna, there is a girl. There is an otherworldly aura around her. She casts no shadow, nor ever raises her voice to a shout. Her eyes are keen and sharp, brimming with knowledge from glancing beyond the veil. Her shoulders are heavy with the weight of stories lost to time. Even her clothing, tattered and worn, seems to carry that aura about it. As if it, along with she, exists on more layers than one. She always carries a thick leatherbound tome with her, as if it were a crutch for her missing pearl. She whispers back to a voice that only she can see. The neighboring clans are wary of her, and yet, dragons from far and wide seek her out. She's one of the most skilled exorcists of her time, sharp and patient and wise. "Binding spirits is simple. It is quick and violent and forceful." She says often, closing her eyes as if acknowledging something only she can see. Perhaps she is. She sits over a cup of tea, her head dipped in response to her newest client. "Releasing them takes understanding, and resolution, and time. I would argue it's infinitely harder. If you accept my services, then you must make peace with your ghosts. It is not a quick or easy process. It is not something everyone has the courage for." "But, if you accept my offer, then you will never be troubled again by the dead. That is why I'm the best of my kind." Her smile is somewhat elusive, then. "In my humble opinion, at least." She rolls her shoulders, standing up once more. "Pay me what is in your means to pay. Give me a week to gather information, and we'll have our first session." "Deal?" |
