Verglas hoards anything shiny or blue, and is happy to do so, just to remember his mother. Every time he hears his name it reminds him of the time when he was a hatchling, when he'd learned to explore with his mother. Verglas got his name for his scales, which his mother said resembled the beauty of ice. She would always bring him over frozen lakes when he learned to fly, just to show him how beautiful nature could be, and why he was named after it. Whenever he sees his reflection, he remembers why he searches the world for passion and all things beautiful. He was taught to stay loyal to his clan mates, and help them appreciate the world around them, despite it being the land they fight on. Verglas knows he had to set out on his own and to leave his family behind to become a soldier, but he has a hard time accepting his own fate when he doesn't know where he'll end up. He searches for a familiar to call his own, a friend he is in great need of, and for a true purpose when he fights. It feels routine to him, like he's performing a familiar task over and over again with no end, yet he still takes pride in his work. Even though he's more sensitive than most soldiers, he always finds a way to brave through it to instead appreciate how far he's come, despite not being sure of why he continues to fight.
