Comments: Little is known about the being known as Hatarei, but recent research has led our scientists to believe that rather than being a single consciousness, Hatarei is perhaps a sentient swarm that has taken over and retained a host body. Little is known as to whether the host's consciousness remains or is allowed to exert any control.
Researchers behind these deductions were unable to comment after the destruction of Research Center Alpha and therefore these statements should be taken as hypothesis only. Of the three researchers working at the research center when it was destroyed, two have succumbed to their injuries and one remains in a catatonic vegetative state.
In the wake of the incident further research was deemed too costly both in lives and progress to continue.
