Reef tends to feel a little bit like an outsider sometimes. Her Shadow element makes her stick to the darker areas of the lair, even though her glittering scales and gembond condition make her look beautiful regardless of the light. Her colouration is not natural, having chosen willingly to alter herself in order to serve her new clan better.

Despite her worries that she doesn't fit in, she does indeed have a place in the clan. She has had many children, and it has awoken a strong paternal instinct in her, even for those who aren't her own children. She tends to the hatchlings, teaching them and guiding them to become better dragons. It makes her worry for those who aren't sure of where they wish to go or what they are. Storm, Ylvess, Varath...even dragons like Tamarax, who were grown before she ever met them. Reef worries for them all and only wishes she could do more to help them.

Her gentle ways have won Citrine's heart, and he fiercely defends her from any who would say a bad word against her. She in turn loves him, and sometimes will stay in the light just to watch him work.
