Born in the glow of the Wyrmwound, Pelinel knew her life would be one of pain and survival from the beginning. Though her mother's flighty nature provided some nurturing, her father soon lost interest in both children and mate for another. Spurned on by the desire to thrive, the young imperial focused her talents into fighting the beast clans, often taking going out alone to test her own strength. Though there were many close calls, she nearly always won, and if not she was lucky enough to survive for another fight. In time, it was clear that she had grown stronger than her birth clan, who survived through necessity but did not truly thrive. Frustrated with the lack of drive, Pelinel struck out on her own to find a clan that was worthy of her skills.
For many years she travelled the lands of Sornieth, continuing her training against the beast clan, sometimes for hire when she was in need of coin or a place to rest. Self-sufficient and headstrong, Pelinel was unafraid to tell clans what she thought of them. This mainly consisted of telling them how weak they were and suggestions of how to improve. Many times this uninhibited advice was met with hostility, though she rarely cared. Instead she simply moved along to the next place, the next clan who might need her help and protection for a time. It was in these wandering times that she eventually found her way through the veil that led her to camp near the Singer's Brook within the Wind Territories. Here she found her match among the troupe of storytellers and performers, surrounded by beings that bore the bodies of dragons but weren't quite right. Her story shared, she was accepted as the Master of Arms under the rule of Orion and Cassiopia. Most of her time is spent away from the clan, training would be troupe-members against the beast clans. What she fails to tell many of these potential members is that they are unlikely to survive the battles ultimately with their stories stolen and absorbed into the troupe's collective lore. In her rare moments off, Pelinel can be found watching the stars as an amature astronomer. Though her skills in this are not as strong as her fighting skills, she is learning to tell the constellations apart.
