Woad had existed since the dawn of time, long before any other Deity, as ancient as the world itself. The only thing she knew for the longest time, was that she was to lay rest to those who's time had passed. To claim the souls and send them to the eternal resting point, while returning their bodies back to the earth. This was easy. This was managable. But everything changed when the other Deities came into being. She could care less for the sky deities, they were pompous and full of themselves, always dancing around with one another and moving the sun around the world. Luminescence and Keira were tolerable, though she often found herself visiting the Nature deity more than they both liked. It was only her job, after all. But when she met Carrion, everything changed. The Love Deity made an active attempt to converse with her on the daily basis. She laughed and bounced around and went on and on about all the wonderful things they could do together. But for Woad, it was like she had just learned to breathe for the first time. Her heart ached and yearned for the other, but... In due time, she would have to claim the Love Deity's soul just like any other living creature, and she wasn't sure she would ever be ready for that day. So, for now, those feelings would remain locked away in the furthest void of her chest. |
