Estelle is a soft yet loud-spoken individual who works daily to improve the habitability of Cragstead and the living conditions in the Kiln. Previously a skilled apprentice of DiPoletti, she earned the status of journeyman but chose not to work alongside her peers in the forges. Estelle's efforts to make a change tend to ruffle the feathers of older residents who favor tradition, much to the amusement of her old guardian mentor and adoptive father DiPoletti.

Among dragons there is a condition that some are born with that limits scale growth. These dragons have few to no scales and are quite vulnerable with exposed skin. In some places of Sornieth many of these dragons will gather together to make a clan. Unfortunately this means the gene is almost guaranteed to be passed down to their offspring, but it does also offer a bit of safety in numbers as well as understanding.
