Biography
Broken Promise. It may be emblazoned on her hull, but it doesn't feel like her name. If you look closely, you may see why.
Promise stands out. Elegent, slanted calligraphy in carefully-leafed gold. You can even discern a few spots where the gold leaf has had to be patched up where the sea has worn away the varnish. A tiny sapphire dots the i.
But before it, broken is almost indescernible except at close range. Each nondescript, thick letter seems to have taken a single brushstroke - for this word is indeed painted on in dull yellow. Indeed, below the lettering you can see a thick, greenish substance. It's tacky to the touch, but definitely not paint. In a few spots where it does not perfectly cover the hull, gold does glitter, its varnish still intact.
That's probably the least remarkable thing about this ineffable vessel. Several sections of the hull are caked in a thick, hard, polished amber. Almost translucent, at the right angle something is just visible below....
The mast creaks; you look up. Something skitters across the upper deck. The boom swings out, and the many glittering chains and gems that adorn this little felucca begin to rattle. A blue foxfire rises from the keel, and the Broken Promise takes her leave.
