Jadetalon is many things, patient, kind, fierce, and a dragon with hidden power in kyr talons. All of these make Jadetalon the perfect dragon to watch over the hatchlings. Kye does their job with pride and an ire that can rival even a god's.
Why kye has such a talent for magic... no one knows. Everytime someone asks they just get a new story--each completely different from the last. Every few years the hatchlings try and piece together the story and each and every time they fail. A lot of the younger adult dragons have long since stopped trying. A lot of the older dragons recognize that the magic Jadetalon holds is strange and dangerous. It's not that it's a secret--Jadetalon insists--people just ask the wrong questions.
Recently, Jadetalon has gained a new helper in the nursery. But her arrivals sparks many questions Jadetalon can't or won't answer. Is kyr magic leaking? It is dangerous? Could it even do that? Kye is too scared to know.
