Everything Stays
Amiria was her parent's pride and joy when she was born. She had such life in her eyes, hope bright and strong. She was a clumsy child though, tripping over her legs like a newborn deer. She didn't care though, always laughing. One of her favorite stories is how she got beat up by another hatchling but didn't fight back. This caused the hatchling to stop and confess all its problems. Amiria loved dragons, beast clan members, and just about everything. The thing was, her parents really wanted her to leave the clan. It wasn't because she did anything, they were a wind clan. Traveling was one thing most wind flight dragons loved to do.
Amiria didn't mind, telling her parents she'd leave and one day visit with many, many fun stories. As she headed out on the road to begin her adventure traveling, a dragon caught her eyes. They seemed to be in pain, limping down the road. As she went to help, she found that they were fine, knocking her out. When she came to she found herself shackled to the floor of a cage. While Amiria was veyr much an optimistic dragon, she found it hard to keep happy some days. The dragon who stole her would beat her, forcing her to do manual labor and even tried to make her fight. She refused, earning many wounds. What helped keep her from falling into depression was by smiling no matter what. Even when it hurt, she'd smile bright and happy. This made almost everyone there, slaves or the owner, hate her. The only ones who were around her were other hatchlings. She'd tell them stories to keep their spirits up, telling them how soon someone would save them. She described them as a strong, kind, and caring dragon. She said the dragon would fly in on wings of stars and keep them all safe.
One day she found herself feeling very weak, unable to stand. She was beaten for this, lashes scarring her body. Out of nowhere though the lashes stopped. She found that her master was killed, a cold-eyed dragon crushing their head. This new dragon was hardly a heroic kind of dragon, claws stained with blood and eyes dead and mad at everything. To her though, the dragon looked exactly like she pictured he would look. She tried to get up, falling over. the dragon watching her, not planning to help. The dragon freed all the dragons but seemed to hate everything. When a hatchling went to thank him the child was met with his cold eyes, and teeth being bared at them. The only one showing no fear was Amiria. She was the only one who would go near the dragon. The larger dragon would flinch when she got close, seeming about to hit her. She nuzzled him with her matted self, curling up and sleeping.
The dragon then was given thanks by the other slaves, even if his eyes were still full of hatred. if Amiria could thank him, they would all too. Soon the large dragon went to leave, only to find Amiria limping after him. He tried to shoo her away doing anything but attacking her. He told her all the awful things dragons would say about them. That He were rumored to have killed a family member, was shunned by almost any dragon he came near and more. Amiria looked them in the eyes, making the dragon flinch from how bright her eyes were. She told him she would never believe those things, that if that were true she would have been left to die, or killed by his strong claws. After this, Amiria became the only dragon this dark dragon trusted, and she loved everything about him. She remains his loyal companion, telling funny stories and being the only one that can make him smile or laugh.
Should you adopt me;
Please give me a name
so I can find a little fame!
Should you breed me;
please find me a good mate
I'd really love a date!
whatever you may do;
I'll be your loyal friend
right until the end!
thank you for choosing me!
