Everything was cold, so cold. She wasn't sure she would ever feel warmth again, not truly. She felt the ice melting away from around her, and something warm wrapping itself around her, but the cold was buried deep within her and was only growing stronger as the warmth spread over her feathers. She opened her eyes and saw that the cave was lit by a flickering light. She turned her head to see who or what was wrapped around her, and she blinked as she took in the fiery demon before her. It wasn't hurting her, though, so she fought against her instincts telling her to run and put as much space between it and herself as possible. She met its eyes, unnerved by the intensity of its gaze. It stared into her eyes for a few moments before stepping away, something in its gaze shifting and hardening. As soon as it stopped touching her, the small amount of heat she'd felt vanished and she was once more engulfed in cold. The glow of its body illuminated the small area, revealing a tunnel in the shadows of the far wall. She moved toward the opening, the demon for it had to be a demon, didn't it? following along behind her and lighting her path forward. They moved in silence down the tunnel together, Cloudy leading the way.

Cloudy stepped foot out of the tunnels and looked around, eyes already accustomed to the glowing of the Ashfall Wastes around her from the demon's light. She could see the water of the ocean a short distance away as she turned to look back at the demon who had followed her. It gazed at her with something akin to hope buried deep within its eyes. She held its eyes for a few long moments before turning and making her way into the wastes. She didn't say anything when it followed her.
