Story Snippet He was tired. So tired. Tired of always running, tired of always coming up short, tired of always failing to save them. His tiredness reached where the cold winter winds could not. It penetrated his bones, his marrow, his very being. How long could he go on like this? Go on being alone? There was no one at his back, no one he trusted. His foot caught on a frozen tangle of roots and he tumbled to the ground. Wearily, he tried to push himself upright as the sounds of pursuit drew closer. The muscles in his forelegs trembled. He flopped back on the ground. He couldn't do it anymore. Couldn't run anymore. Perhaps this clan took no prisoners. Maybe they killed intruders with no questions asked. That would be fine with him. He could finally get some rest. Finally be at peace. "Found him!" That was a loud voice from a big dragon. Timejumper laid his head on the cold ground, wondered if the Viridian Labyrinth ever got this frigid before or if it was his fault. It was all his fault. He was truly sorry if his travels through time had screwed up the weather or ecosystem in this part of the world so far away from his native home in the Southern Icefields. "Did you kill him?" It was another baritone voice from a big dragon. A foot that could easily crush his ribcage stepped in his line of sight. A second set of feet appeared, the massive claws identifying it as belonging to a Ridgeback. His eyes fluttered shut. With such large dragons his end would come swiftly. "No, but I think he's hurt." A smooth, calm voice. "Come on, we'll get him to one of the docs." There was a warmth on his back as those same large feet that could easily crush him wrapped around him gingerly and lifted him off the ground. Steady wingbeats and a cool breeze on his face told him they were flying. "It's okay, fella. You're safe now." Safe. He hadn't felt that way in a long time. |

About Timejumper is not of this world. He hails from a different dimension entirely where dragons do not exist. Through various circumstances, on one of his time explorations he wound up crossing the dimensional threshold into the realm of Sornieth, and being of a species with a ‘chameleon gene’, took on the form of a Skydancer to blend in. He did much exploring of the realms in Sornieth with plans of figuring out a way back to his own dimension eventually. His plans changed, however, when he met the love of his life in the Southern Icefield. They settled together and had a clutch of eggs, much to Timejumper’s surprise. He didn’t think he’d be able to breed seeing as he’s only a Skydancer on the surface. Despite that, he was ecstatic at having a family. Until he didn’t. Timejumper wasn’t the only one to accidentally cross over from his dimension, and one of the other time travelers brought with them unexpected guests. In the ferocity of it all and in the midst of a rift in time and space opening up, his family was lost to the sands of time. Able to travel freely between dimensions now from the tear in reality, he crossed several different worlds, dimensions, and times in search of a way to save his mate or prevent the destruction from ever happening. The more he traveled, and especially the more he traveled to times he already existed in, the more he noticed opalescent scars appearing on him. With every trip and every failed attempt of saving his family, the scars spread and he became more intertwined with the fabric of time and space. Now he feels when time goes wrong. Now he knows in his bones when time’s been screwed up. He could return to his own dimension if he chose to do so, but Sornieth is his home now. He doesn’t think he could ever leave this place, no matter how much it reminds him of the family he lost to the unjust hands of time. |

Spectra The clan has many familiars that hang around for safety, companionship, and for the laid back and accepting nature of the dragons. Some had bonded with the members of the clan, others hadn’t. Though she got along with several dragons, Spectra never found one she wanted to spend her every waking moment with. Until Timejumper showed up. Something drew her to the lonely and snarky Skydancer. While others were put off by his resting murder face and outlandish origins, she was not. Soon, they were fast friends and now she goes wherever he does, even on his occasional adventures to other times, realms, and dimensions. |

Sunset
Sunset isn’t sure why the troubled Skydancer found comfort in her, nor is she willing to question it. If he finds peace resting against her side or watching her work leather and jewelry, far be it from her to chase him off. Once she gets him talking, he can be quite the interesting creature. |

Opal When she had first moved to the clan, she was told not to go near the mysterious new Skydancer under constant guard. Of course, she managed to get through the guards anyway and attempted to introduce herself. Timejumper was not in a pleasant mood, didn’t notice she was there, and attempted a jump in space/time. Opal wound up traveling with him on accident, much to his horror. After that rocky first meeting and adventure, she has become close to Timejumper, even though he doesn’t understand why she’s so enthralled with him. However, he’s come to crack the occasional grin at her jokes and enthusiastic nature. He’s also become her personal protector on any and all adventures they go on. Don’t mess with Opal. She may or may not have become his adoptive daughter. |
