A child born of love, they desired to protect. As a hatchling, Papilio was always drawn towards sharp objects, causing them to a trouble to watch. Aurum decided to train them to be a knight like herself, giving them a wooden sword to frequently play with. As they grew, they were taught more in to ways of knight hood. Rigorous training ensued, becoming more adept each day. They would often challenge other warriors in their clan to duel, but coming up with defeat each time. This only fueled them to continue to train.
As their life continued, they were filled with more and more desire to become strong. One day, they decided to go out to find some beast clan to duel. A single wrong turn, and they were lost. The tree canopy was too dense to take to the skies, so they continued to walk. Trees and thing mimicking trees, it was all becoming the same. Finally, a light. Papilio cautiously approached it. On the other side was something that they thought that they would never see, the exalted battle grounds. They stood in silence at the edge, in shock and terror, then they saw it. On the horizon, a massive figure started to blot out the setting sun. Taking this as a sign of retreat they ran out to the clearing to take to the skies. As taking off they were bit by a crazed guardian. Slamming their sword into the other's head they managed free themself and flee the area. They had lost a leg that day, but also had been humbled.
