Quiet, kind, and level-headed, Aurora is organized and logical. She keeps things tidy and balances the books around the rescue, and also does the brave job of serving as Nilas' best friend/adopted sister. Though she tends to keep to herself, preferring the company of a good book over other dragons, she's by no means unemotional - just prefers to choose her companions carefully. She's also weirdly fascinated by reptiles and amphibians, ESPECIALLY frogs. (Aurora LOVES frogs, much to Nilas' dismay - slimy! Guilty of stealing the bogsneaks' dinner for "research".) The only coatl born to her parents, Aurora quickly realized she was different. Draconian felt rough on her tongue and her siblings all grew faster than her, but she was determined to keep up with them, though they made fun of her feathers and round face. Her father was not keen on childrearing, and though he tried to help with her language skills as best he could, he had other duties and Aurora had to teach herself through reading. |

Word came that there was a coatl looking for a tutor in their language. One of the Changed, they said, who spoke haltingly despite her appearance - not born, but made. Aurora was fascinated by this miracle of science, and also desperate for an escape. She wrote herself in without anyone else knowing. Pearl came to greet her, this young, prodigious (and seemingly half-blind) coatl and instantly took her under her wing. It seems she reminds her of someone she knew long ago. |
