Naomi is the clan's historian and lorekeeper. It is an important duty, but she's not the first pearlcatcher to have that role. No, Naomi is an apprentice to the beloved historian before her, the late Vestiel, who perished in the wake of the Emperor attack last spring. Naomi has added to the volumes of knowledge that her predecessor started, but as hard working as she is, she never considers herself an adequate replacement. Part of that may be due to the clan's interest in communing with the dead, but Naomi won't leave her scrolls to find closure.
