Zen was hatched in a lair where her parents top priority was selling her to make room for new hatchlings. She moved into the Crystalrune Kingdom when King Jupiter offered the seller money to save her from being sold to another kingdom where she'd be neglected. Once she was settled in, she became good friends with another one of the clan's witches named Rune. Rune taught Zen all about the different kinds of magic that existed, and Zen was immediately mesmerized. She became fascinated with magic and became one of the clan's resident witches.



The red-eyed pearlcatcher glares at you as you enter her lair. "Ah. So we have a visitor." she sets her pearl down and approaches you, her gems and chains dragging on the floor as she walks over. There’s at least 8 human looking...spectral hands dancing around the witch’s body. You can’t tell where she stops and they start, but they hover around her, scooping herbs and potion ingredients off the floor and quickly stacking them onto shelves. "Do you believe in magic?" she asks, her eyes glinting mischievously. You nod, hoping that what she'll show you will be safe and simply illusions. With a snap of her talons, a second pearl appears in the air and lands in her talons. You gasp in awe and clap excitedly. "Don't get too excited, newbie." the witch chuckles. "That's just the beginning." she pauses and looks you up and down, clearly not sure what to think of you. "You're clearly not a witch or wizard like us, and you're certainly not a member of our clan." she tips her head slightly as she looks deep into your eyes. "Magic isn't just illusions. It's spells and potions and so many other amazing things that you wouldn't even be able to understand," she says with a smile. "I'm Zen, by the way. Welcome to Crystalrune." she welcomes you. You give her an anxious smile, praying she won't try to cut off the tip of your tail for a potion.
