Thorolfr had always been restless and left his home clan at a young age to explore the world. By the time he had reached the Shifting Expanse, he had become just as good at getting out of trouble as he was getting into it. As Thorolfr tells the story, he had been minding his own business when a group of dragons began harassing him. He was in the process of teaching them a lesson when a Ridgeback got in his way. Thinking he was yet another foe, Thorolfr was prepared to fight him too, but the newcomer instead helped him, not that he needed it. The Ridgeback, who introduced himself as Nordbrikt, offered his clan's resources to help heal his very minor injuries, and since Thorolfr isn't one to turn down free anything, he accepted.

He's been with Nordbrikt's clan ever since. Thorolfr always says he's going to be taking off to explore the world some more, but he always ends up returning back to what is now his home.
