Cruel and cold like winds on the sea Will you ever return to me? Hear my voice, sing with the tide My love will never die Over waves and deep in the blue I will give up my heart for you Ten long years, I’ll wait to go by My love will never die Come, my love be one with the sea Rule with me for eternity Drown all dreams so mercilessly And leave their souls to me Play the song you sang long ago And wherever the storm may blow You will find the key to my heart We’ll never be apart Wild and strong you can’t be contained Never bound nor ever chained Wounds you caused will never mend And you will never end Cruel and cold like winds on the sea Will you ever return to me Hear my voice sing with the tide Our love will never die |

The youngest and only surviving daughter of Balder; son of Sif, grandson of Ragnar and Karma; daughter of Coincidence and Fate. The seas can be cruel... The storm was too much... For weeks, Urd would have terrible visions, nightmares - the Sea wouldn’t let her rest. Her visions were choppy like the pounding waves against the shore. It was the sea; she was sure of it. The Sea was trying to tell her something but she couldn’t understand. Her Langamma, (her great grandmother); Lorelei - the sultry siren, was the first she went to for advice. Maybe the heart of the ocean would have answers. Lorelei watched as her great granddaughter walk along the shores, staring at the waves. Her visage was troubled and she knew that her young descendant needed her help. Emerging from the waves, Urd found her siren Langamma approaching. She was always there when Urd needed comforted when her parents were off to training and when her Amma (grandmother) and Afi (grandfather); Fate and Coincidence was off on business. Lorelei always seemed to know how to calm the waves within her mind. “Tell me my dear, what is troubling you?” Urd almost hesitated, “This dream...it won’t leave me alone. I can’t sleep Langamma.” Lorelei wrapped an arm around her, just in time for Urd’s Amma to appear. Lorelei looked up and smiled at her, “Hello Fate.” Fate smiled, “Hello Lorelei. Urd, I heard you’re having troubles?” Surrounded by her loved ones, Urd explained her dreams that were keeping her up at night and causing fear. Lorelei and Fate looked at each other; they were troubled. They spoke gently and soothing, enough to calm Urd, but there was always that unspoken fear. For the next few days, Urd noticed some strange interactions with her Langamma and Amma. She’d past by but here soft whispers. ...hate us...to be...what...help...ocean... The foreboding shadow darkens her future. Weeks past with no event. Her parents decide to take a family trip to see her other Amma, Lady Sif, one of the many Valkyries of the lineage. It was a beautiful day to sail; clear skies, the gulls call, and the waves are gently. Nothing could be prepared. A raging storm; violent, howling, and clawing the ship. Bit by bit as the old wood creaks and gives. The sails torn useless. There was chaos. Urd clung to her older sister, Darya and mother while her older brothers helped their father struggle to keep course. The storm was swift, the sea was merciless. All Urd can remember is the biting cold, how hard it was to breathe, and the fire. How odd to see flames on top of the sea... Why does it look so familiar? There was screaming. Mourning and sadness, Urd didn’t even recognize her own pain; her eyes began to mimic the glowing of the fires and lightning that she predicted for so long. Lorelei was the one to pull her from the wreckage and back to land, back to their home. Fate nervously waited along the shore for them. Urd was the only survivor and Lorelei and Fate weren’t sure how Urd would take it. “The Sea is a neutral being; neither good or bad.” whispered Lorelei. “Some destinies cannot be changed, rather left to run it’s course.” whispered Fate. Ever since that night Urd, continues to get visions of the future. Though she tells no one unless they are family or close and trusted friends. |
