Biography
For a long while Alder was a tree. She was a tree for a long time. Her life was simple. She had simple thoughts. No feelings of course. She was a tree. But one day. There a was fire. That fire changed her life.
So hot.. So dry. Drip. Drip. Drop. Drip. Wet. Rain? Water! …. Drip. Drip. Drop. Dri-... Dry. No more wet. …. Hot. Very hot. HOT. Fire? FIRE. Burn. Heat. Heat. Heat. Burn. Stop. Please. Stop! …. ….. …. Gasp. “Oh no! The forest!” Sizzle. Sizzle. Sizzle. Wet. No more fire. Wet. Not, water? Wet…
“Wet…” …. “Weird… Huh? W-what?” It felt like Alder was changing. For the first time in her life, shemoved. She was no longer… herself. She had..claws, wings, arms. Had she become… a dragon? She could do anything now! Alder was a dragon! But there was one thing she couldn’t do… Alder couldn’t see. All she saw was nothing.
“H-hello?” Another voice spoke. Alder spun around trying to find what the source of the voice was. The other dragon sounded confused. “Where did you come from? I just turned around after putting the fire on that tree ou- Wait,” It sounded like the dragon was rustling in a pouch. “Oh shoot! I used that potion instead of my water! It must have turned you into a skydancer! Oh deities Zerabon is gonna kill me!” The dragon groaned. “Might as well take you back to my clan. My name is Demeter! Follow me!” To Alder it sounded like Demeter flew off. But being blind, Alder had no idea where Demeter went.
Alder didn’t know what to do. “D-D-Demeter!” She called. Thump.
“Why didn’t you follow me? We have to get back before it gets dark,” Demeter said as she landed in front of the skydancer.
“I-I can’t see. I don’t know how to fly,” Alder responded flexing her claws.
“Oh. I didn’t know. It’s ok though! We can just walk back to my clan,” Demeter grabbed hold of Alder’s hand and they started to walk forward. “So, what’s your name?” The coatl asked.
“I don’t have one,”
“Well then. You seemed to be an Alder tree before I accidently transformed you. Sorry about that. Y’know that’s a good name,”
“What is?”
“Alder,”
“Alder,” the skydancer whispered. “I like that name,”
