Biography

Weather Interpreter

Boot spends his days curled around the dead tree overhanging the camp entrance. Those who didn't know him would be inclined to assume he was slacking off, thinking this odd of a spiral dragon. In reality Boots is actually heavily lethargic and struggles to focus on the majority of subjects, along with joint pain when he moves, something that only worsened after an attack that left him crying for help in the tribe's territory. The need for a weather interpreter made Boots more useful than he thought he would be to the clan. Finding this was something he could do without having to move too much, the spiral was quickly assigned and now watches the sky at a near constant, guarded by Citric.

Born amongst the whirling vortex of the Twisting Crescendo, Boot was deeply connected to the wind and weather, learning as much as he could about the rain and sun, night and day, and all that was in between. It's a wonder he even managed to travel anywhere, but he was determined to do something with his life and set out. He planned to pass through the Scarred Wasteland under the knowledge that he wouldn't make it across the Sea of A Thousand Currents, believing that he would become tired halfway and risk not having a place to stop. It was partway through this journey he was unexpectedly attacked. He was heard screaming for aid, bleeding heavily from a wound in his back leg. Boot described his attacker as a "lumbering monster", and though he had barely escaped his body had seized up afterwards and he could no longer move. He was terrified this creature would find him like this, panic only worsening at the sight of the tribe dragons approaching, though this fear lessened when one of them began tending to his wounds.

Though he recovered from this ordeal, a long scar can still be seen where the wound was inflicted. Boot considers himself indebted to the clan for showing him mercy in a land where survival is so difficult, and so he diligently watches everyday, waiting for even a single sign of oncoming rain..

"The cold and damp weather affects those living with arthritis as climate can create increased pain to joints whilst changes also occur to exercise routines. Many arthritis sufferers claim they can predict rainfall due to the level of pain in their joints."
