A R E K
Arek's heritage might seem surprising: He comes from the Southern Icefield.
But despite making a home and finding a mate in the Windswept Plateau, he remains
devoted to the barren landscape he calls home. He visits his family every few years,
accompanied by a heavy wool blanket to keep warm (hand-made by his mate Citrus.)

Like most of the dragons in his clan, Arek never felt quite at home in his birthplace.
While Ice dragons tend to calatouge items and preserve objects for eternity, Arek was only interested in the ephemeral. Flowers that only bloomed for a few days (rare as they were in the Southern Icefield),
soft fluff lost by fledglings when they grew their first real feathers; these occupied his attention.
Nevertheless, Arek has often recounted how little his clan mates at home cared about their differences: He belonged to the family, after all. Arek agreed. And yet he wanted to see more of the world - there is only so much "temporary" in a world where everything is frozen.
Arek met his mate Citrus when he first came across Yrwen - she had found it about half a year earlier. She showed him around and promptly invited Arek to live in her den.
Yrwen turned out to be the perfect home for this Skydancer because he still felt connected to his home clan in the Southern Icefield. Out of most clans in wind territory, Arek felt most accepted here, where dragons with changed or without flight affiliations come together peacefully. He has plenty to talk about with his neighbours.
Just like Arek, the nomadic clan doesn't like to remain in one place for a long time. Nothing is temporary, after all.
Since his arrival, Arek slowly but surely underwent some kind of metamorphosis.
He changed from a proud Imperial into an even prouder Skydancer.
No one knows why this happended, not even himself. Maybe the bodies of Ice dragons
are not used to change, especially one as radical as the one Arek experienced.
After all, he was first of his family to leave the Southern Icefields in eons.
The magic making up his body was affected so much by the changing terrain that it adjusted: it shifted into a more suitable form. Thankfully, Arek didn't mind this change at all. With a Skydancer's wings, he can enjoy the currents of the Windswept Plateau to their full extent.
The transformations have only seemed to stop a few moths ago, so it looks like Arek is left with extra fur (no doubt leftover from his protective winter coat). More important than the extra shedding, as Citrus observed, is that Arek's fur still matches his healers' garb and sage uniform perfectly.
