It looks like she just noticed you.
... She's reared back and hissing.
"You! My spot! My hunt!"
You have no clue what she's saying but you'd better not stick around to find out. time to book it.
"O misbegotten, o traveler wandering in the dusty corners, o marauder foul and blessed, did you tarry too long, gazing into the dark spaces? Could you divine, in the spaces between breaths, between wishes, how time could bend for you? What could reflect in your multitudes of eyes? Where only the toughest grow strong, did you look back? Did you see the crows coming, did you see the skull-hounds flying, did you grace yourself with a will to plunge on?"

Nervous prowled the wasteland in search of the next scrapped ribcage she could manage to make a meal out of, her multitudes of eyes sweeping her surroundings for any semblance of something edible. Her stomach growls, and shortly after a sharp whimper is heard, certainly not her own. Her head turns to a Contagion pool, then lowers as she approaches it and begins rounding its parameters. A small meat-like red lump, dripping in the pools fluids lays near it, and Nervous' stomach betrays her once again. The lump stirs and turns, revealing a small, deformed head with a myriad of eyes. Nervous recognizes the blessing immediately and her heart sinks.
This hatchlings much too young to be out here alone- she swings her head around to make sure it is alone- and much too small. She takes a slow step forward, and the runt weakly rears its head back and lets out a rasp hiss, spitting disease in Nervous' direction. She has half a mind to press back her deformed crest and hiss back at the little heathen. She instead observes the scrawny hatchling, its spine and ribcage aren't hard to miss and it's saggy skin seems to melt off of it's body and pool beneath it. Nervous looks down at back at her own worse-for-wear body and looks back at the spiral.
She lowers herself again and slowly scoots closer to the hatchling, it's not strong enough to attempt escape, but Nervous certainly can't afford a bite from a strange, diseased hatchling at the moment. The hatchling hisses, then calms slightly. Nervous scoots an inch closer, and the hatchling hisses and whimpers again. Whether from genuine trust or exhaustion, the spiral finally stops trying to threaten the strange mirror. Nervous takes the hatchling in her claws and lifts it like a glass figurine. It's cold, and lazily looks at her with it's many gazes.
"(Find you some food,)" Nervous whispers to it, "(Warm.)"
Nervous places the hatchling on her back, lifting her wings to make sure it doesn't roll off, and continues through the wasteland; Determined to hunt down more than hyena scraps tonight.
