What’s that? Emerus thought to herself. She bumped the spot with her snout, she’s been trying to stretch for hours now. It’s so tight, cramped but now there is something new. It’s bright and has caught her eye so she nudges it again and this time it gives way. She’s broken through! Cautiously Emerus pulls back and looks out of the hole she just made. It’s quiet so she stretches again and this time more of the barrier moves. She slowly pokes her head out of her shell to see a beautiful smiling face looking down at her. The smiling creature reaches out a hand and gently touches Emerus’s face. Pain. Blinding pain. So many images in her head. It hurts. It hurts so much! Emerus is screaming. Why oh why would this creature make her feel safe just to hurt her? As she huddles in her shell shivering and crying another dragon come and makes soothing noises coaxing Emerus from her shell being careful not to touch her. The old guardian gasps, the pretty coatl that had hurt her is quietly crying while a stout pearlcatcher is trying his best to comfort the coatl while tears run down his own face. “My poor child what has the Arcanist done? You have been given the gift of foresight but cursed with many eyes. Every eye showing you a possible future all at the same time. It’s to much for one dragon to handle. My child, you’ll never know the touch of another dragon and as your powers grows if a dragon get’s to close you’ll be subjected to the visions and the pain.”.
