His former mate was Mitzi, and they met in a cave during a terrible thunderstorm.
"You must be either very stupid, or very brave, to step foot here." Mitzi hisses, turning to face the dragon at the entrance of her cave. Red eyes narrow in the gloom and she returns the glare. The storm outside rages, acidic water dripping from azure feathers.
"I seek only a place to shelter from the storm." the tones from the other coatl are deep and smooth. "I'll fight for the corner if I must." She bares her teeth- the other dragon is larger than her and she's no fighter, but out here in the Scarred Wasteland, she'd rather fight than give up what little territory she has.
Even for just a short while.
Especially not for this stranger with the azure feathers.
Outside, lightning flashes and the far off fields of waste ignite- the acidic rain only seems to fuel the far off flames.
Both coatls stare each other down, feathers fluffed out to reveal their full impressive size... but in the end, they silently agree that a fight isn't worth the mess, and the strange dragon is allowed a corner to wait in until the storm passes.
