Broken Wagon Wheel
The Ice Ambassador: Freya
Broken Wagon Wheel
icemid2.png
lAyJoTm.png When growing up in the unforgiving frozen wastes of the Southern Icefield, one must learn to find value in even the most minute occurrences. Freya is no exception to this rule; her innate Spiral hyperactivity combined with her icy upbringing have formed her into a dragon fully committed to living in the moment and looking on the bright side of things. No one has ever seen her without a smile, even in her sleep!

When asked how a dragon from the Snowquall Tundra ended up on the opposite side of the globe, Freya will laugh and tell you her journey was completely accidental. Freya had lived a relatively sheltered life in her old clan, and hadn't seen much of the world outside the frosted plains she called home. When the Gaolers began their march out of hiding, Freya was intrigued, and asked the first Gaoler she came across where he came from and what he was doing. She was told that the Gaolers were on the hunt for something, and that they had been tasked by the Icewarden himself to journey across Sornieth in order to achieve their goal. Freya was instantly enthralled by the idea of such a hunt, especially if it was ordered by one of the gods himself, and without thinking things through she decided she would accompany these Gaolers on their journey. She coiled around the antlers of the nearest of the Icewarden's first children and demanded they take her on, despite the complaints of some of the more traditional dragons. The chance of a lifetime had just been presented to her, who was she to turn her snout up at it?

The Gaoler squadron she had inserted herself into was tasked with covering the area near the Viridian Labyrinth. While the lumbering giants made their way through the Starfall Isles and Dragonhome on the way to the lush, green jungles of Nature territory in relative silence, Freya frequently wandered off to chase flocks of Fallout Streaks or sample spare pillbugs crawling along cracks in the earth. The whole time she would talk the ears off of whoever's antlers she'd attached herself to. Want to hear about the Snapper she found caked into the dirt? Or what about the rock she was sure was a piece of the Pillar of the World? No? Too bad!

By the time the squadron got to the Viridian Labyrinth, most of her travelling companions were eager to be rid of her. They all went their separate ways, each meant to cover a certain section of the forest and make sure any threats were contained. Freya was stuck with reserved Conley, who didn't altogether mind the Spiral's talkativeness, but thought she could be rather overwhelming at times. Together the two of them have made the Astera Clan their headquarters while Conley begins his investigation. Each month, the two make a week long trip back to the Fortress of Ends, where Conley reports his findings. Freya technically isn't allowed in, but she can easily hide herself in Conley's bounteous fur. Lucky for them both, Gaoler fur is incredibly good at stifling noises, so if Freya happens to forget that she is not allowed at the meeting, any of her comments are drowned out by fluff. Her one main issue with the Gaoler meetings is that it seems like no one there knows how to have fun. She secretly wishes she could pop out and show them that they don't have to be so serious all the time, but for now she's satisfied that she gets to make the Astera Clan's Crystalline Galas less stuffy and more entertaining.
