Biography
Pre-existing lore...will probably be tweaked to fit clan but mostly stay once I sit down and actually focus on reading it:
Caecilius
From the Roman family name Caecilius, which was derived from Latin caecus "blind".
WARNING: Lore is very sad and death-related, please don't read if it might bother you!! <333
During life, Caecilius feared death so much that he became obsessed with avoiding it, dedicating himself to the study and practice of necromancy. He spent so much of his time trying to find a way to prevent himself from dying, that he never spent any time with any of the dragons who cared about him. He became a master at restoring other dragon's severed limbs, but his attempts at bringing others back to life were somewhat unsuccessful. Still, Caecilius's fear of death led him to cast a spell on his own body, which, if successful, would prevent his soul from leaving his body. Because of this, when his time did come, his spirit was unable to rest, and he is trapped in his lifeless body, forced to be a sentient, undead corpse forever. However, Caecilius still has very strong, dark Shadow powers and excellent necromancy skills. As such, his body has suffered minimal decay, but as eyes are delicate, his have faded to blank white. He attempts to hide this by covering his head with a hood. However, it is very easy to tell that Caecilius is far from a normal dragon, as he radiates powerful magic and a deep, icy cold.
Due to his eternal undeath, Caecilius has learned the painful lesson that death is nothing to fear, and he wishes bitterly that his soul could be laid to rest. But because he cannot die, he has set out to protect the living from untimely ends, scouring the world for dangerous artifacts that would kill a mortal dragon.
Personality: Caecilius has a dry sense of humor, and is usually very reserved around other dragons. When he does talk to them, his sarcastic nature usually fades to sadness, as being around living dragons isn't easy and he dislikes talking about himself for obvious reasons.
Other Information: Caecilius spent his entire life in the Tangled Wood. He tries to avoid it, as the place brings back so many bittersweet memories, but sometimes he can't help but gravitate back towards his favorite town. It's a small, run-down town, full of crooks, thieves, and black market businessdragons, but Caecilius feels most at home there. It's also a great place for him to start tracking down dangerous relics.
He tries to never form an attachment with another dragon, but he misses company so much that he just can't help but make a friend. He tries to lose them, as much as it hurts, when he sets out on his missions. He always insists on going alone, and then he avoids returning to the area where the friend was until he is sure they must have carried on.
Sadly, it is impossible for Caecilius to ever come back to life or move on, unless, perhaps, one of the Eleven themselves reached down to restore him or smite him completely. Caecilius suspects that when he is unable to prevent his body from decaying past repair, his spirit will have no choice but to haunt his remains. But in a strange way, Caecilius has become half glad of his fate, because of all the dragons he is now able to save.
-most dragons are a bit too intimidated by him to come near
-likes to float around in corners looking gloomy by himself
-currently has taken up residence as the Elder of shadow in an effort to restore his fellow dragons to their former glory after the great dragon war
Eye journey: Rare -> Unusual -> Unusual
Thank you for the scattersights, paleocene!
