Since hatching, Mimir has experienced occasional visions of future events through the eyes of those who would undergo them. Normally negative in nature but rarely of any vast importance, the dragon chose not to speak of them as she doubted she would be believed, and rarely had any idea who would experience what she saw or when it would happen anyway. As she grew these glimpses became more and more severe in nature, up to even the death of whomever's future Mimir was experiencing. Such things take their toll on a still young dragon, and Mimir set off wandering from her original lair, hoping to distract herself.

Upon meeting Fatima, the visions became much more frequent, occurring almost daily, and the excess stress from this constant barrage resulted in her producing mucus for her pearl far more frequently than could possibly be normal. The pearl has since grown unreasonably large for a dragon her age to possess, and almost pulses with stress and negative emotions. She has hidden it away, rather than carry it with her. Few creatures have any desire to venture towards it, even without knowing why it seems the way it does, and Mimir finds herself sick with shame when the subject comes up among other pearlcatchers.

Early on in what could be considered their friendship, Mimir made the mistake of confiding in Fatima who, instead of attempting to help the other dragon, chose instead to encourage the trances and pass off what she was told by Mimir as her own prophetic visions.

Realizing she is being exploited, Mimir is torn. She assumes that leaving the other pearlcatcher and moving to a new lair would bring the visions back down to a more manageable level, but at the same time feels a twisted sense of devotion to the other dragon, doubting that she would, at this point, be accepted or understood by anyone else.
