Verzeihen
Nervous|| Melancholy || Kind "I never expected my life to take the path it has." Theme Song Verzeihen was a simple ordinary hatchling. Her parents were brief in her life before she was sent off to auction to find a new home. She was nervous watching the dragons looking at the other hatchlings for sale but gradually grew more and more dejected as she was passed by. Soon she'd be old enough to be recruited to serve a deity while other dragons were being taken to nice clans around her. Then a Tundra came up and handed treasure to the merchant of her clan and she was summoned to go after them. The young skydancer hadn't known what to expect but what happened was far from it. She was taken back to the Clan of Death's secondary camp where she was introduced to a fae named Azoth... as his future mate. Verzeihen was informed their hatchlings would be raised apart from them and used as part of an experiment on tracing magical power and bloodlines, which she uneasily agreed to, and not long after she had two eggs with the fae. The pair slowly got used to each other and she admittedly did fall in love after a while but circumstances changed quickly with what was going on in the clan and being torn from her newly hatched daughters along with being thrown into a group of dragons to fight for a rank in the clan hit hard. Azoth of course was there to help her but slowly she grew more and more refined. Verzeihen regretted being chosen once again, as her first born daughter, Eeli, rejected her and Azoth as family while her second daughter, Alma, was killed off in the experiment. She wept for her daughter's death and the loss of both hatchlings when Eeli joined their group but still refused to act as a family. Even Azoth was lost to her soon after. He'd died fighting and his body was buried by her own claws. Her life was falling apart. She didn't care about the battles she was forced to partake in anymore or the fact her family was expanding around her. An imperial who was also in the group- Eurfryn- helped her through her grief. He too had lost his mate to the experiment and his son, Onyx, joined their group eventually as well. Verzeihen hated the fighting. Hated seeing those around her fall. Hated herself for being too weak. She focused on healing magic in attempt to save those around her but still some would fall. Eventually the group was sent out of Death Clan's territory. They were barely a group now but she couldn't give up. Onyx and Eeli were still weaker than her and Eurfryn... She had to be able to help protect them. But in the end they all fell. Eurfryn was first after a battle gone wrong. His wounds too deep for her magic to heal and he died shortly after returning the their 'camp'. Her daughter was next. The death toll had numbed her and she watched blankly as Onyx buried the tiny fae. Then the young imperial died too, leaving her the sole survivor of the trials. Her heart wasn't in the victory though and the tundra, Lucifi, came to collect her and welcome her into the clan as a healer. Verzeihen didn't feel like much of a healer... but she still accepted. She didn't even care if this was another bad choice. There was nothing left. Well... nothing but an emperor where their camp once was. For now it was contained. Verzeihen hoped it would stay that way. If she was going to remember those comrades she'd fought beside it wasn't going to be as a monstrosity. |
