Biography
Nobody really knows Woken's origins, as he was not a gift from the Sun Elves following the war. Dragons are rare in the first place, and the few that are born on the Sunlit Isles are bound there by chains or magic, unable to venture further than the space agreed by the island leaders. Yet, he was discovered as an adolescent, stomping around the forest at the base of the spire, big enough to shake the trees. His glowing eyes and rune markings are distinctly new, having never been observed by anyone living.
Original belief was that a sun elf had left the isle and smuggled a dragon with them. This began a discourse between Lara, the only sun elf outside the Isles. Lara is a narcissist and a powerful magician, although he is regarded as average amongst the elves back in his home. In Selene, however, his magic is incredibly strong. Regardless, he is the only person with direct contact with Lunus, one of the two known surviving gods. Lunus promised she had not created a new dragon since the ones gifted, and the rune markings were unique only amongst a total of three dragons in history, and six that were still alive, only five of which were still capable of breeding. She could not recall if any of the gifted dragons had such markings, nor did she seem particularly interested.
Lara relayed the information, and the king was left unsatisfied. Regardless, Cariad requested to take him in, which was reluctantly accepted by her husband. He now lives with Rai, who fostered him as her own son. The pair are often apart, due to the size of the forest, however they will call to each other at night. This calling ceremony has become the informal "lights out" for the staff and family living in the palace.
