She had known it ever since birth. Though born on Earth flight land, her eyes echoing such powers, Aisuru had known to be bound to the earth wasn't her destiny. She found no peace in the murmurs of the earth, no tranquility to be found in the winds that bore dust... No, she only loved the breezes that sang of oceanwater. The ones that told of rolling shores, silent beaches, and quaint homes just outside of the rolling dunes. Aisuru never knew why, when she was younger. Just that home... Home was not in the earth. It was in the vastness of the sea, no matter what other dragons tried to tell her. It was only when her mother spoke of the Siren and her love- Aisuru's family lineage- did she understand why. That everything suddenly made so much sense to her young heart. To sing in such sweet tones that would make others pause or shiver. Why the sea made her heart ace with a fierce yearning... The song was a gift from her grandmother, to be sweet and alluring. Her ghostly appearance, both frightening and alluring...a gift from her grandfather. Not to aid in the Siren lineage, perhaps, but a blessing all the same. A charm that Aisuru embraced. After all, her mother once told her, "Aisuru" means "to love"... So she did. She loved her gifts, her heritage with all her heart, bones, and soul. Embraced what it meant to be one of such a glorious line...! Though who could blame her heart for breaking, learning that her eyes alone meant she wasn't fit to be seen as a "pure" one of the family? To be accepted, yet looked into her eyes...and called "diluted"? Yes, truly it was heartbreaking...but once more did Aisuru not let it get to her heart. Once more did she move past this with grace, her chin held high and proud. She wishes now to grow her shorted locks into something worthy of their family. To sing until her voice wears and all who listen linger to her call. To dance and move in such hypnotic ways, that more shall fall under her hold, until she is content and her extended family- not just her mother and father- see her as just as wonderful as any of the others of the clan. Aisuru will love. She will perform, dance, find a mate, and bring glory to her family evermore...! And the eyes of Earth will not have stopped her from doing so in the slightest. They will see. |
