Sulien was... interesting. At the start, it was the kindest way Quizzle could put it when they first met. The imperial was eccentric, a little airheaded, and a tad too pompous for anyone's liking. It made it all the more baffling that someone like him would have traveled so far from home and wound up at Vulstalridge's figurative doorstep. What was this guy's deal?

Garod asked this same question directly (albeit more tastefully), and Sulien-- realizing that he'd gotten off tangent-- explained his situation. The imperial's own clan was dealing with a bit of a... crisis, as in a hulking formidable aquatic creature terrorizing their seashore sort of crisis. Only issue was that it was impervious to most magic, with its only known weakness being the touch of ice. He and his people were in dire need of assistance, and Vulstalridge was the first clan in the Southern Icefield to not treat him with immediate hostility.

Quizzle and her younger twin siblings just kinda shrugged and said why not. They'd all wondered about the world beyond their territory and this sounded like a cool enough excuse to go exploring, so they did! With their mother's blessings and their father's fretful well wishes.

They reached the Sunbeam Ruins, defeated the creature with some help from the locals, and earned the respect and gratitude of the Niamh Clan in the process. It all took a lot less time than anyone expected, so the three Vulstalridge guests chose to stay a short while and learn more about their new friends, as well as the nation in general.

Sulien had especially taken a shine to Quizzle and was more than obliged to show her around. And to even her surprise, Quizzle didn't mind. The imperial had shown courage and brains of his own in that fight and frankly, he'd grown on her too. With the both of them being avid bookworms of a sort, they found plenty to talk about and the friendship was mutually appreciated.

Niamh's golden boy made himself an ambassador of the clan some time later, stating that he'd like to study the peoples and customs of the Icewarden's denizens; although there was no doubt that Quizzle was one of his main motivations for doing so. And there must have been some charm to his oddities in the end, because he somehow managed to woo the skydancer into a courtship that following year.
