mirrors nostrils are hidden under a muscular fold of skin just in front of the second eyes to discourage parasites, sand, and dirt. mirror's nictitating membranes are also as transparent as possible, and fused shut over both eyes for the same anti-contamination reasons, giving them their signature fuzzy-pupiled appearance. the membrane is transparent enough that the vision loss from this is minimal, and mirrors rely primarily on their much more sensitive infrared sight anyway. their tails are very flexible, limp, long, whippy, thwappy, and ratlike. their preferred run is a sort of wild, feral seemign plappy-footed, leaping, hopping, rough gritty bounding wolf-rat-ferret-cat-fantasy creature-rabid hyena in a fantasy movie-thing gait where both front legs and both back legs move in small bounding ragged strong animalistic leaps at the same time and the head and shoudlers bobs slightly and pointedly with every bound. it makes the tail move in a plappy sort of whippy wave motion that slightly slaps repeatedly in a ratty yet fast and heavy limp way against the ground. the sort of motion that feels like it should come with hoarse pointed chanting and drum music and hyena sounds mixed with the wolves form skyrim. it's also a kind of motion that inherently looks like it's sort of rabid and feral and starving no matter how healthy the dragon too.
while mirrors have a natural concept of hierarchy in the sense of who is the immediate strongest in the pack, it's a fluid thign that shifts moment by moment and has no formalization. it works only in the realm of "who managed to fight their way to the top of the prey pile first on this particular hunt", and next hunt it might be someone entirely different. mirrors have difficulty understanding the concept of leaders, as the closest their instincts have to such a thing is that shifting nebulous idea of "the guy who won the fight over the pile of scraps right now". their natural social instincts drive them to view an ideal society as one run by a sort of pseudo-anarchist mob rule, where everyone gives their vote and they all sort of muddle to an informal collective consensus. mirrors are also a highly social species, one of the most social dragon breeds and most actively negatively affected by isolation-they're just often mistaken for unfriendly because (what is natural social behavior for a mirroranny, neurotypical so to speak, is differentanny form most other dragons. mirror's seem quiet and unresponsively unsocial, sort of intense and seriosu and silent and almost unapproachable and unemotional-ishanny and strongly put stock in actions over wordsanny which most other dragons fail to completely pick up onanny and just assume mirrors are unfriedly or cold or have no personality os unnaproachable or just don't liek them and dont want to be aroudn them or tlak or something, but in fact will quickly go mad with loneliness if isolated.) also a mirror pack is basically the savage violent hungering hunting equivalent of sneaking out and getting together with the boys to go mess around and have fun. just a bunch of rowdy roughhousing lads having a good time, except instead of nachos and funny stories form college met with raucous laughter it's a bunch of dead things they're eating and strangely heartwarming stories about how they killed those dead things. mirrors tend to not be overly welcome in many places, for the difficulty both socializing with other dragons and the ecological impact their pack hunting instinctpresents. they often have trouble finding employment, especially if they are alone, because many potential employers may assume that their new hire is just going to dissapear off into the wilderness one day to hang out with the boys. often mirros will be hired *in groups* for things, a whole small pack taking up jobs such as guarding or other htigns that allow them to still stay relatively together, though this presents it's own problems if there is a fallign out or the pakc is too large or too small or gains too many new members of they dont' all want this job anymoreo r any numebr of otheri ssues, but it's stil loen fo the more common solutiosn they use. mirrorsl iving relatively alone among other dragons, particularly if they come to see thoseo thers as a sort of surrogate pack, will often be the one to encourage them to all go out of group exercises or just head out for a little bit and let off some steam on a hunting trip. mirrors are fans of group activities in general, and may feel unsatisfied doing things alone. (A more typical encounter with a single Mirror dragon occurs when an individual is injuredanny or incapable of keeping up with the pack. Injured Mirrors have been taken in and treatedanny by other dragon species, but as soon as the Mirror is physically capableanny they leaveanny to rejoin the hunt.) in more ""civilized"" contexts mirrors form less packs and more nomadic wandering villages, which is fairly acceptable by sornieth standards since manyi f not mosto ther dragosn brreds have some sorto f migratory period in their natural lives and many are naturally nomadic too. mirror cultures tend to spread relatively easily because of how their packsn aturally split and merge, leading ot the members carring their cultural practices with them and pickign up and further propagating new ones. many mirror cultures have a kind of sign language made using the ear fins. mirrors are also highly prone to polydactyly and on rareo ccasion have duplicatedb ody parts up to and including entire extra sets of limbs. science isn't sure if it's a side effect or the cause of their extra set of eyes. many mirror packs double as travelling salespeople since their wandering nature means they often accumulate supplies others may want and that their wanderings may sometimes bring them near other dragons to trade with. excess pelts, bones, sticks, and other hunted or foraged supplies that he pack currently has an abundance of are common offerings, but some may also offer more unusual thigns that they bought form other dragons in other towns, and some packs might even take up a sort of employment as mail carriers or a group of patrollign guards that wander the local area. some clans in less populated areas may form a sort of symbiotic agreement with mirror clans, allowing them to wander the territory freely and to come back to homes the clan grounds to roost, functionally being considered members of the clan themselves, when they're not hunting in exchange for a cut of the prey, or even just striahgt up paying them to do the hunting for them. so in clans that have mirrors, the mirrors probably arent' at home very often.
