Though the Driftwood Drag is a cozier place than one would assume, Cairo is happy to call the Zephyr Steppes his home. He says he has a strong sense of "Fernweh" for the windflight, though the less studious dragons tend to be confused by such words.

Cairo is not without his oddities; for a dragon in the Windflight, Cairo has a massive appreciation for things that can be found by digging in the dirt. He's the clan's resident archaeologist, determining the worth of the items the clan brings back from scavenging and digging, though he usually takes part in those activities too. His pilco, Waddles, enjoys wriggling around in the dirt too, making them a perfect match for each other

He takes after his mentor, Mandarin. He and Calathea are steadfast friends who have known each other since the two were hatchlings, and often make conversation about their studies. Shockingly, he has far better chances with the beautiful mage than Xannan, the handsome imperial male of the clan.

The biggest point of contention in Cairo's family is his sister's career choice. Anesha's job as an exotic dancer is a hotly debated subject when the family gets together. Cairo and Sweetsong are incredibly supportive of her, which can put them at odds with Kahoku, their far more conservative cousin.
