Biography

Of the Gifted chimes heraldry (picture later)

The Gifted Chimes originated when the Windsinger received a gift from the Flamecaller: a stone that glittered in every color of the rainbow. The stone was so beautiful, the Windsinger thought it might be a shame for it to simply sit and look pretty, so he turned it into a dragon—many dragons, because just one could not express the amount of beauty in the original stone. While these dragons had pale colors throughout most of their bodies, their wings glittered like crystals in the sunlight.

These dragons moved to populate the Reedcleft Ascent and the Twisted Crescendo, with each population developing slightly different color variations. Paler variations seem to prefer the swirling Twisted Crescendo, where all that can be seen of them as they fly is a flash of sparkling feather, while the others seem to appreciate the calmer beaches near the Reedcleft Ascent.

These dragons are especially fond of combing the beaches for glimmering gems or pieces of colored gems. Each dragon has its own collection, and they hang them up in their lairs like wind chimes. The sound from each of these chimes is unique, and each dragon might prefer to pick up different colors as well, making them beautiful works of art. A large number of these chimes in the same area will compose a unique song every time a wind blows.

Cupido Lore: ~Ridiam :p

Glorious dragon of the gifted chimes, created by the Windsinger. Cupido is one of the glittering sons of Catallena. He has many beautiful siblings dedicated to the honour of the Windsinger and the gifted chimes clan. He enjoys aerial tricks, hunting for fish in deeper waters and shadowy forests near the ocean or lakes.

One day he went fishing in his favourite spot when he noticed something watching him out of the corner of his eye. He knew to be weary of this spot as it did not technically belong to any clan and thus wandering dragons in search of a fight tended to roam here. But to his surprise it was a beautiful female dragon who watched him. She appeared to be part of the waters and he feared she would melt away into the ocean at any time. He did not even consider whether she was a threat before splashing down beside her.

Up close even her eyes seemed to be small oceans of mystery and he had no idea what she thought of him being so presumptious but he immediatly made his intrigue clear to her. This was not how he had been tought to seduce mates at all, but he was afraid she would leave if he did not give her an important enough reason to stay. At first she seemed surprised but he could not fathom those eyes. And then she conceded to give him a chance! He knew his clan would accept her, for with her irridescent wings she could almost be of the gifted chimes, if it wasn't for her need to be in water...and her venomous bite.

It was clear she had never left the oceans so he took it upon himself to show her first the beauty of the shore and then deeper inland (always with a body of water nearby). She appeared fascinated by everything he taught her and especially wanted to know the names of all the flowers around them. He reveled in her reveling and knew he would never want another mate.
She still appeared worried about how her clan might receive him but he hoped she would choose him. He had begun to prepare a place, a sort of den between their worlds for them, without telling her. He would fill it with all the new things she loved and surprise her once she chose to truly be his mate.

They need never have worried it seemed when she told him how easily the clan had accepted her choice and he could swim in their territory whenever he wished. He could barely believe his fate : to be chosen by such a beautiful mate and accepted by her clan. Now was the time to show her what he had prepared for them.
It was the perfect time; with the soft light of the stars shining through the leaf canopy high above he led her to his haven. He had planned for there to be tiny rainbows in the small waterfalls but the night sky was even better. It glittered in ripples on her dark body just as it did on the pool surface. She truly did seem to be part of the water again, but he had no fear of her disappearance this time. She was his and he was hers and together this place was their's. In this place they would finally be mates.

Later he could hardly contain his pride for the two little eggs they had produced. She smiled at his exuberance, still her mysterious smile that he would never tire of. He couldn't wait to meet their hatchlings and welcome them to the world. He hoped they would enjoy their lifes and also find loving mates, if that is what they would want in life. They spent long relaxing days curled around their precious offspring, imagining who they would look like most. Occasionally hunting for fish in the nearby saltwater lake.

The day of the hatching both parents were exited and very nervous as they had never done this before. When they saw their little ones emerge they were beyond elated. Their 2 hatchlings looked almost just like their parents. One clearly meant to live in the ocean with its cobalt waters; and one suited to forests and lakes but with some of her mothers traits. Their brood could choose to live in either envitonment when they were grown. But for now they would be guarded in their parents lake.
