Pyro has played with fire since he was merely a hatchling. When Pyro’s father, the great warrior Lucifer, found out about Pyro’s affinity for fire, he forced the young dragon to train as a fire warrior. After years and years of being forced into fighting and training Pyro began to despise his father. Pyro had no wish to use his love for fire to do harm. In fact, the only reason the young hatchling sat by the hearth during every waking moment was the warmth. The only reason he stared at it, mesmerized, was that the sparkling flame was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen (with the only exception being his mother, Venus, known in his home clan - and across many plague clans - for her cruel, cunningness and beauty.)

One would think that Lucifer and Venus were heartless, with no love for their son. However, they did in fact have hearts. Hearts filled with conflicting envy and pride for their son’s abilities. They only pushed him so hard because they wanted him to reach his full potential. They thought his gifts could not be ignored (even though ignoring them was all Pyro wanted to do).

When Pyro asked his father if he could stop training to be a warrior, his father called him a weakling and beat him until he swore he would devote his life to fighting. When he told his mother about what his father did to him, she nodded and strode out of the room, leaving poor Pyro asking himself if he could stand to continue to live like this.

At the time, he was too young to leave his parents. He was forced to do as they said. But by the time he reached an age of official independence, he left his parents and his old life behind. He found an amazing friend and mate in Lillia after all of his previous mates left the clan to be exalted. She was always there for him and as far as I can tell, she always will be.

After completely deserting his old life of training to be a warrior, he began to miss the gentle glow of fire. Raven finally accepted his request to put a fire in his room (after weeks and weeks of begging and bribery). Now, if you listen closely through his door, in between snores you will hear the gentle crackle of a flame.
