Stelt
Vanillabean, the old librarian, seems to have vanished. Stelt turned up a few days later. She walked into the library calmly, and began doing the work. There's something about the dragon that puts everyone on edge, but she quickly became so unshakably settled that everyone was hesitant to kick her out. The only one who doesn't find her creepy is Veritas. As a scholar he has always spent time at the library, but ever since Stelt arrived he's been there every day. He always needs clarification or the location of book, which she is happy to provide. She seems to have taken a liking to him, but she's a hard dragon to read. |
Her footfall is light as she walks the clan library, so many dragons don't see her coming. At night, her candle floats through the aisles, shedding light on tome after tome. Her scarf trails behind her. The ordinary brown and blue look ominous in the dim light. Some dragons say they've seen her hastily scrawling notes in a small, blue book, but most of the time she composed, her face always neutral. |
Her longneck medium familiar can be seen re-shelving books in the librarian or falling at her heels. He seems afraid of something, but it certainly isn't her, since he often crouches behind her as if hiding from something. Everywhere he goes he carries a candle, even in the daytime. The flame is a bright blue, and he keeps it always lit.

Stelt woke to the sound of screaming. She didn't open her eyes, instead burrowing deeper into the nest and trying to fall back asleep. It's just a nightmare, she told herself. It'll go away. The sound did stop, after several minutes. Stelt climbed up over the rim of her nest and looked around her. Most of clan lay sprawled before her. She didn't quite comprehend that they were dead, but she knew that they weren't sleeping. There wasn't a single mark on any of them, though. Only there eyes were changed, becoming solid black. The shadows in the room didn't seem quite right. Stelt started shaking. She crumpled to the floor, then abruptly scrambled to feet and ran out of the lair. Out in the open, she saw other dragons fleeing in the distance. She hadn't searched among the bodies for her family. She didn't want to know. Stelt tore off into the night, running she didn't know where. She caught snatches of conversation as she ran, dragons huddled in groups whispering about the Shade. The shadows in the sand writhed bizarrely. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Young, blind fortuneteller and dancer. Empathetic to the point where her emotional stability suffers.
Seref is perhaps an unusual sort for his profession. Architects are, after all, supposed to value calculation and precision. Most aim for their works to withstand the test of time, to serve the world well, to become monuments in the distant future. It requires a vision and a decisive hand to achieve such things, and the uninformed would assume Seref has neither. He is too tender, some say, too soft and forgiving and languid. Where is his passion, his work ethic?
But then they see what he creates, and they know they have made a mistake.
Where other architects often wish their creations to stand out from the environment around them, Seref takes the utmost care to put his work in harmony with the world, rather than to place it at striking odds. His structures are not only sound, but intricately woven with their world, a part of the natural landscape and at the same time a dragonmade feature. His bridges between trees drip with vines and sunlight, and his lair expansions find harmony with the wider world no matter the expense.
He is most fond of the work he has done in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The warm waters and beautiful beaches are a stunning but challenging work environment, and recently, he has made truly glorious castles from the sands, sealing them with magic, integrating them with currents and the tides with careful study of the waters. The castles are his pride and joy, and he is quite seriously considering building himself a home in the same manner to spend the bulk of his days tackling the rest of the architectural challenges the Tidelord's domain has to offer.
