Lawrence B. Shoggoth, the delinquent son the highly feared ruler of the Netherworld (the mostly unknown afterlife for the beings of Sornieth) and an unknown sire.

The self claimed Bio Exorcist, Level 25 ghost... (well, demon), and chaotic undead sibling of one Lydia Deetz.

Nowadays, ever since the little event the Deetz-Maitland family has titled 'The Juicening,' and the gaining of a family, Beetlejuice has the greatest honor of causing chaos in Lydia's home made haunted house.
He also gets to help the boring-yet-sexy Maitlands strengthen their ghost powers, and takes great pleasure in exaggerated groans and sighs when they act a bit too 'boring' for him. (Except he's gotten used to it now and may end up with tinges of pink in his mane whenever it does occur.)

-THE EARLY STUFF-

BJ didn't have the so-called 'average childhood' that a gaoler would (or should) have. A typical gaoler hatchling likely would have been raised by their strict (but likely loving) parents to prepare for their future role.

BJ however, was not so lucky to get that, not just because of the whole technically a demon and not a gaoler thing. No, instead he had to deal with the wrath of a large, intimidating demon that manifested in the form of a guardian. Otherwise known as Juno, or sometimes, 'Mom.'
He was 'raised' (if you could call what Juno did 'raising' a child) in a dimension linked to Sornieth, where the souls of most creatures went to when they died (not too sure if any Imperials have made it yet).

One of the earliest things he can remember is Juno chastising him on his 'chosen form'.

Quote:

"Seriously, Lawrence? You call that" cue a large clawed hand gesturing disgustedly at him, "a Gaoler? You look like an overgrown Tundra for shades sake!"

BJ tried to cut in that it was what felt most natural, only to be cut off by his mother. "'Natural?' You're a shadedamn demon, you aren't 'supposed' to be natural!"

But that was only the start of the constant criticisms. If he looked too clean, his fur looked too soft, he was called a disgrace, a disappointment.

Soon he just let his fur, claws and antlers do whatever they wanted. His fur grew long and matted, and the complaints on him looking too soft for a demon stopped. His claws and antlers grew out of control, leading to an unkempt, almost feral appearance, and most of the other critiques soon faded.

-THE CURSE-

As he grew, BJ spent more time flipping between Sornieth (otherwise known as the Overworld to the inhabitants of the Netherworld) & the Netherworld, doing small jobs here and there for his dearest mother.

Said jobs included being a Guide, guiding recently deceased souls to the other side.
After several hundred years of doing the same thing, returning and getting berated for doing a 'less than stellar' job, BJ finally had enough and told his good ol' mother where she could shove her jobs.

Of course, this led to Juno giving her dear son a nice little curse, banishing him from the Netherworld and making him invisible to the living. At first, it was great. No rules, no stupid job!

But after 300 years or so.. it got increasingly more and more lonely.
Which led to him coming up with an idea to get him out of this once and for all;
Find someone close to death, keep them in the Overworld long enough to get one of them to make a living dragon say his name 3 times, and bam! He'd be seen again!
